So a little back story on this post. I just found it buried in my inbox. It is a email I sent myself from the back of a car on the way to a whitewater rafting trip before deciding the Blackberry should be powered off.
The sun was shining, leaves changing, and I was feeling great and decided to rant. Inspired by Fred’s post.

1) It is always to feel something that makes you instantly nostalgic. For me that is Jimmy Eat World. No matter what they evoke the same feeling, no matter setting, song, etc. I just have an association with their music deep down; can’t shake it. New album included.
2) Never knew this before - straight from the undercover-obvious dept: depression has been shown to lead to a temporarily lower IQ scores. Does this mean that geniuses (who happen to suffer from the depression explained by a high correlation between IQ and depression) cure their depression naturally by getting dumber?
3) I haven’t really had time to think about this weekends rafting trip until tonight. Clark, Mike and I watched videos of past ventures down the river. It’ll be intense. Looking forward to cutting loose.
4) Still thinking about Jimmy Eat World, and man, I a little unhappy they didn’t venture back toward their sound on Clarity, but this (the new album Chase This Light) ain’t bad. It has it’s place. Maybe I will go see them after all? UPDATE: Saw them. Awesome show.
5) I was out celebrating with my brother last night and he was able to succinctly explain my love for exercise. He correctly reminded me that getting out and running, swimming, … was merely allowing myself to transgress back to childhood. Agreed and well put! I never feel better, happier than when I’m exercising - true to my childhood.
6) I tend to use features in ways that reflect my bent on organization. For instance on Google Reader I use labels in two ways concurrently to aid in content digestion. I label feeds first by categories: video, tech, finance, UNC, personal, etc… Then I also have a set of feeds: a, b, c, where must read feeds go under “a” followed by “b”-rated subs and so on. Not the best solution but if I know I have 10 minutes to catch up the sorting is already done. I wish I could enter keywords to “favorite” in line what Feedhub’s offering.
7) I hope you read Paul Kedrosky’s Infectious Greed (and laugh at
xkcd.com).
8 ) There is noting more game-changing than be running at an enjoyable pace and be passed by a Carl Lewis wannabe. Yeah, you know the feeling: instantly, it’s on.
9) Clark just surprised us with the new Band of Horses album Cease to Begin. Thanks for another band Clark. Isn’t serendipity great?
